Highly selective catalysts for the hydrogenation of alkynols: A review

نویسندگان

چکیده

The semi-hydrogenation of alkynols to enols is a crucial process in the production pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, fragrances, and flavors that involves complex set parallel consecutive isomerization hydrogenation reactions proceeds via several key intermediates. In view industrial importance large-scale enol through alkynol hydrogenation, various noble non-noble metal (e.g., Ni Pd)-based catalysts promoting this transformation have been developed. This paper reviews design highly selective for alkynols, focusing on role additives, second metals, catalyst supports, reaction conditions combining catalytic kinetics with theoretical calculations establish mechanism decisive factors boosting selectivity. Finally, strategy designing efficient based characteristics aqueous-phase proposed.

TiO2 supported Pd@Ag as highly selective catalysts for hydrogenation of acetylene in excess ethylene.

A novel TiO2 supported core-shell (Pd@Ag) bimetallic catalyst was fabricated via the sequential photodeposition method. The Ag shell effectively blocks the high coordination sites on the Pd core, and therefore pronouncedly enhances the ethylene selectivity for the catalytic hydrogenation of acetylene in excess ethylene.

Highly selective hydrogenation of arenes using nanostructured ruthenium catalysts modified with a carbon-nitrogen matrix.

Selective hydrogenations of (hetero)arenes represent essential processes in the chemical industry, especially for the production of polymer intermediates and a multitude of fine chemicals. Herein, we describe a new type of well-dispersed Ru nanoparticles supported on a nitrogen-doped carbon material obtained from ruthenium chloride and dicyanamide in a facile and scalable method. These novel ca...

Selective Hydrogenation With Copper Catalysts: II. Kinetics

To explain the unusually high selectivity of copper catalysts toward linolenate, model compounds were hydrogenated (150 C and atmospheric pressure) and the reaction products analyzed. Products varied depending upon location of the double bonds. Monoenes were not reduced by copper chromite except when the double bond was next to a carboxyl group. Dienes with isolated double bonds also were not r...

Highly selective derivative spectrophotometric determination of palladium(II) in hydrogenation catalysts and alloy samples

A simple, selective and sensitive derivative spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of palladium(II) using a newly synthesised reagent diacetylmonoxime-(p-anisyl)-thiosemicarbazone in acetic acid medium. The molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity of the coloured species are 3.8 × 10 L mol cm and 2.8 ng cm, respectively. Beer’s law is obeyed between 0.2-2.0 μg m...

Highly selective ruthenium metathesis catalysts for ethenolysis.

N-Aryl,N-alkyl N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ruthenium metathesis catalysts are highly selective toward the ethenolysis of methyl oleate, giving selectivity as high as 95% for the kinetic ethenolysis products over the thermodynamic self-metathesis products. The examples described herein represent some of the most selective NHC-based ruthenium catalysts for ethenolysis reactions to date. Furtherm...
